Mood Disturbances

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is the term commonly used to describe symptoms of inattention, distractibility, and poor working memory. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the term used to describe additional symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity.

ADD / ADHD symptoms can be extremely difficult to navigate and manage for kids and their parents.

There are multiple contributing issues for this condition. We focus on a few of them at the clinic.

Sometimes a food, food component, chemical or environmental sensitivity can trigger an ADD/ADHD type reaction in people, especially in kids. If this is the case we use a needle free therapy to address the specific triggers.

Sometimes we need to work with calming the body’s systems, which we do through acupuncture or acupressure, depending on the age of the person being treated.  We may also need to work with herbs or CBD to calm things down in teens or adults. Other things that we look at when addressing this condition are things like diet, gut microbiome health, and toxins.

Did you Know:

About 6.1 million children in the United States (9.4 percent) between ages 2 to 17 are estimated to have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD

(according to a 2016 study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

This figure includes:

  • 388,000 (2.4 percent) of young children aged 2 to 5 years

  • 2.4 million (9.6 percent) of school-age children aged 6 to 11 years

  • 3.3 million (13.6 percent) of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years

The same study found that boys are more likely to have ever been diagnosed with ADHD than were girls (12.9 percent and 5.6 percent, respectively).

Our treatments are child friendly for addressing ADD/ ADHD symptoms.

What our clients have to say:

“My son was really struggling when he would eat different foods, they made him very unfocused, hyper and weepy. We had to cut out many of his favorite foods so he wouldn’t have crying and anger outbursts after eating. After doing a few of the treatments, he is now eating the foods that used to cause problems for him. This treatment has been a life changer for our family.”
