Boosting the Immune System

A strong immune system is paramount to a healthy life.  Our immune system protects us from harmful substances and germs (viruses, molds, bad bacteria, etc.) that can make us sick.  It also helps to protect against disease, infection and helps people recover after an injury. Without an immune system, we would constantly be ill.

There are many ways to boost the immune system from daily dietary choices to acupuncture to herbs to stress relief to sleep quality, they all hugely impact our immune system and need to be addressed for proper immune function.  But an overlooked piece of the immune system is often neglected, which is our gut.  A huge proportion of our immune system is found in the GI tract and our wonderful microbiome.  Taking steps to ensure your digestive system is functioning properly is an essential part of maintaining a healthy immune system. So for us, we work on multiple aspects to improve the immune system and get it as robust as possible, as quickly as possible!

Of course we want to maintain daily immune supporting activities like hand washing, avoiding foods that have gone off, being aware of our water sources, minimizing exposure to people who are ill and avoiding high pollution areas, but making sure our digestion is working properly is essential.

Did you Know:

Nearly 70 percent of your immune system is housed in your gut.

What our clients have to say about Striving for Health:

"I had eczema for over 7 years. I used to use steroids every few days for years but the eczema would keep coming back. After a few treatments, I don't have any eczema symptoms and don't need to use any medications.  I also had a chronic cough for over 10 years. My doctor thought it was reflux. However, after only a few treatments my cough is almost completely gone."
