Facial Gua Sha

Gua Sha has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for centuries to help with a variety of health issues. It has only been in the past few decades where it is popular as a beauty tool for the face.

Facial Gua Sha can help to counter signs of aging caused by the stress of modern living and improve the appearance of the skin on the face.  Gua Sha can help move stagnant lymph and increase blood circulation which will bring needed nutrients back to the area to support circulation, nutrition, and detoxification.  Gua Sha is also used for cross fiber stimulation for deeper wrinkles and sun spots.

This is a pain free and relaxing treatment.

Other benefits include:

  • Helps with dark circles under the eyes

  • Tones and firms the skin

  • Reduces wrinkles

  • Reduces puffiness

  • Helps with head, neck and jaw pain

  • A great treatment that can be done at home between sessions

We use a Gua Sha board made from Bian stone, for all of our sessions.

This type of Gua Sha board is different to most gua sha boards on the market. Bian stone has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The unique properties of the stone allow heat to be stored in the stone, which can create a calming and soothing effect on the skin. Bian stone contains over 40 different minerals and is said to emit far infrared rays and negative ions, for further healing benefits. From a stone medicine standpoint, it is said to balance the energy of the body.
