Treatment Tips
When doing body Gua Sha, make sure to apply a good body oil on the area before starting to ensure the board slides easily and properly on the skin.
Body Gua Sha for cellulite reduction should not leave any dark marks or bruises, so if you see them during or after a treatment, you are using too much pressure with the board so lighten up. The area will become pink for sure and that is normal.
Can use in combination with other body tools.
The Qi Body Gua Sha board is a great adjunct therapy to go with our Body Brush and Qi Body cup. If using them all together, we recommend starting with dry brushing before jumping into a hot shower and then after the shower, apply your favorite body oil and start your Body Gua Sha session. A wonderful option is to alternate Body Gua Sha and Body Cupping on the problem areas, so you get a few treatments of each per week.
This is a natural product made from stone and is breakable so be careful with it, and don’t drop it.
The Qi Gua Sha board is made from Agate Stone. Each board is handmade and is completely unique, based on the stone it was cut from. Gua Sha Boards have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The unique properties of stone allow heat to be stored in the stone which can have a calming and soothing effect on the skin. It can also be cooled when a more anti-inflammatory benefit is needed for the skin.
Why use Agate? Agate is the workhorse of the stone world, slow forming, steady and reliable. Agates are like strong medicine. Agates have been used for ornamental and healing amulets since the Babylon times and were believed to endow their owners with strength, courage and security. Plus, they are just so pretty. :)
